DBU WOMEN'S SOCCER ON FLO COLLEGE
The No. 7-ranked DBU Women's Soccer team returns to action Saturday night as they host Central Oklahoma in a non-conference showdown at Patriot Soccer Field. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. with
Reagan Ratcliff, Ricardo Aguilera, and
Alexis Delagarza on the call live on FloCollege.
LAST TIME OUT
In a battle of nationally ranked South Central Region opponents, DBU outlasted No. 24 UC Colorado Springs on Wednesday night, securing a dramatic 2-1 victory to remain unbeaten on the year.
The Patriots wasted no time getting on the board. Just 92 seconds into the match, freshman
Riley Olsen unleashed a strike from the top of the box, slipping it past UCCS goalkeeper Nylah Mirshafiel for her first collegiate goal. UCCS responded in the 18th minute as Emily Aguilar's 30-yard blast evened the score. DBU continued to control the run of play, outshooting the Mountain Lions 8–2 in the opening half.
With the match still deadlocked late, the Patriots found their breakthrough in the 86th minute. Redshirt senior midfielder
Anne Louthan, facing her former squad, made no mistake after a pinpoint through ball from
Angelina Olmos, slotting home the game-winner for her third career match-clincher at DBU. Redshirt freshman
Leslie Miller stood tall in goal after the break, making two crucial saves, while defenders
Parker Coe,
Kenzi Tufts, and
Lauren Walker anchored a back line that turned away a late UCCS push. The win extended DBU's home unbeaten streak to 13 matches.
