THE RUNDOWN

DBU dominated from the gun to the tape, capturing the inaugural Hill Cross Country Classic with an impressive 17-point performance. Megan Williamson made a strong season debut, claiming the individual title in 19:08.4. Trinity (Tex.) finished second with 71 points, while Blinn Community College placed third with 114.

Williamson comfortably completing her cross country conquest was the catalyst for team triumph, as Courtney Richman crossed the line in 19:16.43 to secure second place. Anastasia Tronicek followed with a fifth-place finish in 19:31.71, while KayCee Keller (7th, 19:35.6) and Avery Frank (8th, 19:57.47) rounded out DBU's top-five scorers.

The wave of red and blue continued to flood the front of the field, with seven more Lady Patriots earning top-20 finishes: Kirra Phillips (9th, 19:57.78), Ellie Frye (10th, 19:59.19), Addison Lopez (12th, 20:03.75), Makayla Stephens (14th, 20:10.03), Mia Oliver (15th, 20:24.98), Mae Delrot (17th, 20:35.84), and Berkley Funderberg (19th, 20:48.94).

Though not officially recorded in the results, Kylie Himes also completed the race, slotting between Stephens and Oliver to give DBU yet another top-20 finish.

Hosted on Hill College's campus, the course wound across grassy fields between campus buildings and onto a dirt trail along the outskirts of the property before looping back past a small duck pond. With varied surfaces and uneven terrain, the slower times compared to the Texas A&M Invite were no surprise.

UP NEXT
With another race in the books, DBU now turns its attention to hosting the Old Glory Gallop at AP Ranch in Fort Worth. The premier cross country meet in the DFW Metroplex, this year's event is expected to feature more than 40 teams from across the nation. The women's 5k is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 11.
