THE RUNDOWN
DBU (11-4, 5-0 LSC) defeated Angelo State (11-5, 2-3 LSC) 86-50 on Sunday afternoon, extending the Patriots' win streak to nine. DBU held the Rams to a measly 29.2% shooting percentage and blanked them from beyond the arc (0-13).
Trevor Frank led the Patriots in scoring with 15, while dishing three assists and poking two steals.

DBU jumped out of the gates with a 7-0 run with buckets from
Xavion Brown and
Trevor Frank, but the Rams would claw back and take a 10-9 lead with 12:28 left in the first half. In the following possession,
AJ Borden sank a lead-taking second-chance bucket, which would stand as the final lead change of the game. What Borden started resulted in an 8-0 Patriot run, initiating the great separation evident in a 36-point victory.

Headlined by
TJ Thomas' three first-half steals, the Patriots forced 15 turnovers inside the initial 20 minutes alone, applying the Real Relentless Intelligent Pressure they've been branded with. DBU took a 16-point lead to the locker room at the half.

Twelve different Patriots recorded field goals in the second frame, but
Daniel Figueira and
Braeden Pitts led the group with eight points each in the final 20 minutes. Pitts was perfect from the field, knocking down two threes and a close-range bucket in just four minutes of court time. Pitts is now 7/11 from the field this season (63.6 fg%).

Head coach
Dr. Blake Flickner had this to say on the win: "Exciting start to finish win against a really good, well coached team on the road. We got a lot of contributions tonight. Almost everyone had a chance to score and nine different players scored at least 6 points. The defense was really good today, guys were really connected and locked in."
