Basketball Extends Win Streak to Ten With Win Over Sul Ross State

THE RUNDOWN
DBU (12-4, 6-0 LSC) defeated Sul Ross State (2-9, 0-6 LSC) 90-63 on Thursday night, extending the Patriots' win streak to double digits. Trevor Frank led the group with 14 points in a game where five Patriots ended in double figures. Frank added three assists and three steals to go along with his team-leading point total.

Frank opened the scoring with a fastbreak layup before Sul Ross responded, knotting the score at two. Frank then drilled his first three of the game, making it 5-2, and DBU would hold on to that lead for the rest of the evening. Jackson McCabe dropped eight points (3-3 fg) and hauled in seven rebounds inside the first 20 minutes, showcasing his dominance on both sides of the court. The Patriots took a 35-18 lead into the locker room at the half.

DBU was in control for the entirety of the game, but the dagger tonight was a 17-0 Patriot run that began with five minutes left in the contest. The Patriots would accrue those 17 points via two dunks (both from Xavion Brown), three total three-pointers, and two layups. In a half where DBU scored a whopping 55 points, Brown and TJ Thomas led the way with eight each. Thomas poked three steals in the final 20 minutes, in a half where the Patriots had ten as a team.
