In his 15th season on the air, Reagan Ratcliff delivers all the action alongside Ryan Wilson from Rip Griffin Park. Every DBU road is streamed live as an audio broadcast on the Patriot Broadcasting Network.

LEADING OFF
STAYING IN THE HUNT: DBU won an important Conference USA series over the weekend, taking two of three against Louisiana Tech. The Patriots are now in solo third place in the league standings and four games behind first-place Jacksonville State.
KRAUSS ON THE RISE: Chayton Krauss caught fire in the weekend series, homering in all three games and driving in a team-high seven RBI. He now has a 17-game hitting streak and has homered in four of the last five games, and his batting average is above .300 for the first time since March 7.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK: After throwing the first nine-inning complete game by a DBU pitcher at Horner Ballpark on Friday, Liam Watt was named the CUSA Pitcher of the Week. He threw a career-high 10 strikeouts while allowing only one run on five hits and one walk.

TOP STORYLINES
SLUGGING OFFENSE: Averaging 8.4 runs per game (25th in the nation), the Patriots boast one of the most powerful offenses in the country, belting 96 home runs (5th) and slugging .532 (11th).
HOME RUN BARRAGE: DBU's 96 home runs are the 7th-most by a team in program history. If the Patriots reach 100 home runs, they would be the 4th straight team to do so and the 6th all-time.
RECORD-PACE HOME RUN RATE: DBU's average of 2.00 home runs per game ranks as the best pace in school history. The program record of 1.92 home runs per contest was set in 2024.
HOME RUN THREATS: Four Patriots are in the top 10 among all CUSA hitters in home runs: Jake Bennett (16, 1st), Chayton Krauss (16, 1st), Ryan Martin (12, 6th), and Luke Pettitte (12, 6th). Dylan Schlaegel has hit 10 home runs, making DBU the only team in CUSA with at least 4 players with 10 or more homers.
EXTRA-BASE MACHINES: Dylan Schlaegel and Chayton Krauss are two of the best power bats in CUSA. Schlaegel is fifth in the league with a .627 slugging percentage, and Krauss is eighth with a .597 clip.
POWER FROM PETTITTE: Luke Pettitte has been a sparkplug for the Patriots since settling in as the everyday designated hitter. Since his first start at DH on March 14, he tops DBU in home runs (12), RBI (38), slugging percentage (.697), and OPS (1.110). The junior also leads CUSA in conference games with 10 home runs.
GETTING ON BASE: Jake Bennett has reached base in 41 straight games, dating back to last season. He is the first Patriot to get on base in 40 consecutive games since Grant Jay made it on base in 55 straight between the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Also, Chayton Krauss owns a 17-game hitting streak and a 24-game on-base streak.
CHAYTON CHASING HISTORY: Already just the 4th Patriot ever with 200 career hits and 40 home runs, Chayton Krauss continues to climb the charts in DBU's record book. His 47 home runs are fourth all-time, and his 194 RBI are second. If he reaches 200 RBI, he would join Jason Krizan as the only players in DBU history with 200 hits, 200 RBI, and 40 home runs.
RELIEF FROM THE BULLPEN: Freshman Max Luzarraga has developed into one of the most reliable arms out of the DBU bullpen. Luzarraga leads all Patriot relievers with a 3.18 ERA and went seven straight outings without allowing an unearned run until Sunday. Over his last eight appearances (11.0 innings), he has posted a 0.82 ERA.
PHENOMENAL FIELDING: The Patriots' defense is 14th in the nation in fielding percentage with a .980 rate. At its current rate, DBU has the 2nd-best fielding percentage in school history behind the record of .982 set in 2024.

SCOUTING TEXAS TECH
SNAPPED THE SKID: Texas Tech snapped a nine-game conference losing streak on Sunday with a win over Baylor.
ELITE OFFENSE: The Red Raiders boast one of the most well-rounded offenses in the country, with the second-highest batting average in the country (.349), the sixth-highest on-base percentage (.440), and the ninth-highest slugging percentage (.534). Their 9.0 runs per game is good for ninth in the nation.
ALL ABOVE .300: All eight of Tech's statistically-qualifying hitters own batting averages above .300, led by Caden Ferraro with a .381 average (5th in the Big 12).
HOMERS FROM HUGHES AND SHOUSE: Logan Hughes and Connor Shouse flash the most power for the Red Raiders. Hughes tops the squad with 13 home runs and a .674 slugging percentage, and Shouse is second with 10 long balls and a .608 slugging percentage.
SOLE SAVE: With a team ERA of 7.68, the Red Raiders bullpen has posted only save on the season. It belongs to Will Jordan, who earned it on March 22 in 12-10 win against Arizona.

SERIES HISTORY
DBU is 12-20 all-time versus Texas Tech in a series that dates back to 2004, the beginning of the Patriots' Division I era. DBU snapped a four-game losing streak to Texas Tech with a 16-10 win in Dallas on March 17.
