Kelsey Bruce enters her fifth year as an Assistant Coach for the DBU Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Track teams. She serves as the women’s recruiting coordinator as well as assisting with coaching roles, specializing in mid-distance, steeple chase, and supplemental work.
 
During her career at DBU, Bruce competed in both Track and Cross Country under head coach Jacob Phillips from 2011-2015. As a four-time Conference Champion, Regional XC Champion, and four-time All-American over that span, Bruce finished her collegiate career with a fourth place finish in the NCAA DII Cross Country Championships. She was also a member of the top 25 Division 2 team in 2015, a NCAA championship team appearance.

Since completion of eligibility, she competed on TEAM USA in 2019 at the USATF World Championships, in the marathon. She’s a two-time Olympic trials qualifier in (2016, 2020) and has finished in the top 10 at 7 USATF Road Championships in distances including; 20k, 25k, half marathon, and marathon. 

Bruce graduated with academic honors from Dallas Baptist University with a B.S. in Mathematics and Minor in Physics.  She completed a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2017 and plans to graduate again in December with a Master of Science in Kinesiology.  Bruce is a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Grand Prairie.
