The Dallas Baptist Patriot baseball team was defeated by Sam Houston State University on Tuesday afternoon in Huntsville, Texas by the score of 5-3, dropping the Patriot's overall record to 21-16 on the season. 

The Patriots were unable to take advantage of several chances throughout the game, including leaving nine runners stranded.  With the loss, DBU fails to sweep the Southland Conference, but manages to post a 9-1 record against the Southland for the season. 

DBU will resume action on Friday afternoon in doubleheader action when they travel to Edinburg, Texas to take on the University of Texas-Pan Am beginning at 4:00.
