Lady Patriot Volleyball Team Keeps Rolling Out the Victories

The Lady Patriots of Dallas Baptist University won their sixth and seventh straight matches this weekend, when they defeated UT Permian Basin three games to one on Friday and Saturday.

DBU continues to make the Burg Center a tough place to play at, improving their record to 7-1.  For the season DBU is now 12-14 and 3-2 in Heartland Conference Play.  With the two losses UT Permian Basin fell to 13-17 on the season.

Both matches were tough faught victories, but DBU has learned over the season how to overcome minor setbacks and push forward to victory.  DBU right now is riding the strong play of their seniors and the emergence of freshman talent.

Seniors Jenna Pry and Brandi Moss had a monster weekend for the Lady Patriots.  Over the two matches Pry had 54 kills and 49 digs, while Moss had 37 kills and 7 blocks.

Pry and Moss would not have been able to have nights like this without the help of some great sets.  Freshman Vickie Mundell set the two up numerous times with 80 sets over the two matches.

The two matches were a combined team effort with every girl seeing playing time and contributing in some way.  For this reason the Lady Patriots have won seven straight and will look for their eighth on October 17, when they face off against Texas Woman's University, at 7:00 p.m., in the Burg Center.
