Patriots Fall to UTSA

DBU was defeated by the score of 8-2 on Thursday evening at Patriot Field, snapping their three game winning streak, while committing four errors and scoring only two runs, a season low.  With the loss, the Patriots fall to 8-4 on the season, while the Roadrunners improve to 5-7.

In the first inning, Sophomore Austin Krum singled to start the inning and stole second and third base, which set up a RBI sacrifice fly by Senior Jeremy Goldschmeding, giving DBU an early 1-0 lead.

Krum helped the Patriots add to their lead in the third inning, after hitting his first homerun of the season, a solo shot over the right field wall.

UTSA responded with an unearned run in the fourth inning, on one hit and one error, leaving the score 2-1.

The Roadrunners hit a solo homerun of their own in the fifth, tying the score at 2-2.

The Patriots threatened in the sixth inning, after loading the bases, but were unable to push across any runs.
