The Dallas Baptist University Patriots defeated LeTourneau University on Tuesday evening by the score of 15-5 at Patriot Field. With the victory, the Patriots snap a three game losing streak and improve to 24-15 on the season.
DBU got on the board in the second inning, after Senior Drew Holder homered to start the inning and Junior Matt Tucker followed with a homerun of his own. Senior Cody Montgomery added a bases loaded single, giving the Patriots a 4-0 lead.
In the third inning, Holder walked to start the inning and Tucker followed with his second homerun of the game. Freshman Evan Bigley added a solo homerun, for the second set of back to back homeruns in the game, giving DBU the 7-0 lead.
The Yellowjackets from LeTourneau added an unearned run in the fourth inning to leave the score 7-1.
DBU added four more runs in the sixth inning on four walks, two hits and one Yellowjacket error to make the score 11-1.
Montgomery added a solo homerun in the seventh inning and Holder added a two run blast to increase, his second of the game and 15th on the season. Senior Damian Gomez added a RBI single to make the score 15-1.
The Yellowjackets added three runs in the eighth inning on a bases loaded triple and a Patriot error to leave the score 15-5.
The Patriots added another run in the eighth on a RBI double by Junior Jimmy Thoma, increasing the score to 16-5.
DBU will resume action this weekend in a three game series when they host Hawaii-Hilo beginning on Thursday afternoon at 7:00 at Patriot Field.
