Patriots Drop Final Two Games of Series

The DBU Patriot Baseball team was defeated in games three and four of the series against Fresno State University on Saturday afternoon in Fresno, California.  With the losses the Patriots drop to 29-17 on the season and also had their six game win streak snapped.

In game one, the Patriots lost 13-4, after leading in the fifth inning 3-0, but allowing the Bulldogs to score 13 unanswered runs.  Sophomore Austin Krum lead the Patriots going three for four with one RBI and a solo homerun in the ninth.  Freshman Trevor Head also went three for four with two RBI and homerun, his second of the season.

Junior Jordan Craft was stuck with the loss, falling to 4-2 on the season, after allowing only one hit in the first four innings. 

In game two, the Patriots were defeated by the score of 6-3.  Junior Rodney Brantley received the loss, falling to 8-3 on the season, pitching four innings, allowing six runs on eight hits. 

Offensively for the Patriots, Krum went two for five and Senior Jeremy Goldschmeding went two for four.  Senior Drew Holder added two RBI and Senior Cody Montgomery had his hitting streak snapped at 24 games, which was a DBU record.

DBU will resume action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Fort Worth to take on TCU beginning at 7:00.
