In game two of the doubleheader, the Patriots from Dallas Baptist University Southern Mississippi by the score of 3-3.
The Golden Eagles scored three runs in the top of the second inning on four hits, taking an early 3-0 lead.
DBU responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game 3-3. Senior Drew Holder started the inning, reaching first after being hit by a pitch and scored on a RBI double by Freshman Evan Bigley. Junior Ross Olson drew a walk and Senior Israel Victor added a RBI single and Freshman Brandon Bantz followed with a RBI fielder's choice.
Southern Miss used six runs on six hits in the top of the third inning to take the lead 9-3 and chasing DBU starter Junior Jordan Craft from the mound.
The Patriots scored one run in the third, after Senior Cody Montgomery singled and later scored on a RBI single by Junior Matt Tucker, making the score 9-4.
In the fourth, the Golden Eagles scored eight more runs on five hits and four walks and added one run in each the fifth and sixth innings.
DBU managed to add one run in both the fifth, sixth and seventh inning on RBI singles by Freshmen Evan Bigley and Will Stramp and Senior Damian Gomez, leaving the final score 19-7.
The Patriots resume action on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 when they play the third and final game of the three games series against Southern Miss at Patriot Field.
