The Patriots from Dallas Baptist University dropped the second game of a three game series to the UTA Mavericks 10-7. DBU fell to 32-22 on the season while UTA improved to 24-33.
The Patriots started the game right where they left off Thursday night when Sophomore Austin Krum took the first pitch he saw over the right field wall giving him his seventh homerun of the season. His second at bat was not different when he drove a (3-2) pitch over the right field wall for his second homerun of the game. The Patriots pushed across four more runs to make their lead 6-3 going into the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Mavericks responded and took the lead for good in the bottom of the inning with seven runs off of four hits, two walks, and two DBU errors to bring the final score to 10-7.
On the day for the Patriots Krum went 2 for 4 with two homeruns giving him eight for the season. Senior Drew Holder also had a strong game with a 2 for 4 night bringing his season Avg. to .366.
The Patriots will finish out the series with UTA on Saturday at 2:00 at Clay Gould Ballpark.
