The DBU Women's Soccer team picked up their fifth win of the season today when they defeated St. Edwards University, 1-0. DBU improved to 5-2, while St. Edwards fell to 5-2.
The game was a tough defensive match with each goalie trading saves until late in the game when DBU was finally able to break through. In the 78th minute, Senior Angelica Sandoval scored the winning goal after she was set up by Junior Mandy Gomez. DBU was able to shut down St. Edwards for the remaining 12 minutes to secure the tough victory.
DBU will be in action again on September 20, when they travel to Odessa, Texas, to take on UT Permian-Basin, at 1:00 p.m.
