DBU Volleyball Splits with TAMIU

The Lady Patriot Volleyball team split a two game match with Texas A&M International over the past two days.  The two teams played the first match on Friday and TAMIU won a tough match 3-1, to improve their record to 11-2, while DBU fell to 4-11.

DBU took the first game of the match winning 30-24, but could not seem to maintain the momentmum loosing the next three games to suffer a tough loss.  For the match DBU was led by Seniors Jenny Pry, Brandi Moss, and Ashlee Hawkins.  Pry had 18 kills and 23 digs, while Moss had 13 kills.  Hawkins added another 28 dig night to her season.

Match two was a different story when DBU started off game one with a 30-24 victory.  The Lady Patriots were determined to not let TAMIU regain control of this match by finishing them off in three straight games to win the match and pick up their fifth win of the year.

The Patriots were led by Senior Jenny Pry and Freshmen Vickie Mundell and Tiffany Coffey.  Pry led the team in kills with 18, including a span were she scored four consecutive points for the Lady Patriots.  Mundell set Pry up several times during the match along with several other sets that led to DBU points.  Coffey contributed 10 kills and one solo block.

The Patriots look to continue their strong play when they travel to Billings, Montana to take on Montana St. Billings.  The match is scheduled for September 22, 2006, at 7:00 p.m.
