The DBU Lady Patriots Soccer team picks up their second win of the early season in dominating fashion, after defeating UT Permian Basin 7-0. The Lady Patriots improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Lady Falcons fall to 1-5.
DBU started their scoring when Freshman Khrystal Richmond kicked in unassited goal making the score 1-0. The Patriots finished the 1st period off strong when Richmond passed the ball to Junior Courtney Schneidau, who collected her first goal of the 2006 season.
The Lady Patriots turned their play up a notch in the second half scoring five goals. Sophomore Kimberly Wepler and Senior Angelica Sandoval accounted for three of the goals. Wepler scored all three goals giving her, her first hat trick as a DBU Patriot. Sandoval was awarded an assist for each of the three goals scored.
DBU scored two more goals late when Junior Mandy Gomez perfectly placed a shot over the top of the goalies head and Richmond knocked in her second goal of the day off of a assist from Sophomore Chloe Adams.
DBU will continue action Thursday, September 7, 2006, when they travel to Ada, Oklahoma to take on East Central University.
