Box Score Game 1

Box Score Game 2

The Patriots Baseball Team dropped their fourth game in a row when they were defeated in both games of a double header against Louisiana Tech on Saturday.  La Tech won game one 11-8 and the final game of the series 3-2.  DBU with the two losses fell to 16-16, including 6-10 on the road, while the Bulldogs improved to 22-14.

Game one of the day began at 3:00 and saw both teams slapping the ball all over the field.  The Bulldogs ended up with the upper hand in the run totals by scoring 11 runs on 11 hits, including two homeruns.  The Patriots on the other hand compiled eight runs on 13 hits, including two homeruns of their own.

The difference in the game came down to hitting with runners in scoring position, while the Bulldogs left nine on base it did not compare to the 13 runners DBU left on base.  The Patriots could not seem to get the hit that would allow them to take control of the game, which proved to cost them the game.

Picking up the loss in game one was Freshman Ryan Goins (3-1), who pitched 4.0 innings, allowing five runs on six hits.  Junior Austin Krum led DBU at the plate by going five for six, with one run score, and one RBI.

Game two saw each team's bats cool down and three pitchers duel it out for nine innings.  DBU started Freshman Victor Black, who went 6.0 innings, allowed two earned runs on eight hits, and struck out five, while Senior Randall Taylor finished the game off for DBU by pitching 2.0 shut out innings.

However, stealing the thunder from DBU's pitching staff in game two was the Bulldogs starter, Dylan Moseley.  Moseley pitched a complete game, allowing two runs, on eight hits, and striking out five to pick up his fourth victory of the season.

The Patriots offense came from Junior Nick Santos and Freshman Austin Knight, who both went two for four, with Santos scoring a run.  Sophomore JT Bloodworth scored DBU's other run when Senior Garrett Baker drove him in.

DBU will look to break their losing streak on April 6, when they welcome Texas Southern University to Patriot Field for a three game series.
