The Lady Patriots brought a win home from Wichita, KS , Saturday night as they defeated the Newman University Jets 2-1 in Heartland Conference play.  The win improves The Lady Patriot's record to 6-4-1 in the Heartland Conference and 8-7-1 for the season.

The Newman University Jets took a small 1-0 lead into halftime Saturday after Amanda Knabe scored in the 44^th minute from a through ball from NU's Kayde Kluge.

The lead was not enough for The Lady Patriots as Freshman Kourtney Edwards stepped up early in the second half to tie the match at one in the 53^rd minute with a perfectly placed header.  The assist coming off an Ally Bales corner kick.

Lady Patriot Freshman Brittany Layne sealed the deal for DBU as she had a powerful 25 yard shot that flew past the Jet's goalie for the game winning goal in the 72^nd minute. 

The Lady Patriots wrap up the regular season on November 8, 2008, as they host St. Edwards University at Patriot Field for a Heartland Conference match.  The match is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
