The DBU Lady Patriot ended their 2008 campaign with a tough three set loss to Cedarville University in the NCCAA National Championship match. The NCCAA National Tournament was hosted on the campus of Colorado Christian University .  DBU finished the 2008 season with an overall record of 24-18.

The Lady Patriots defeated Campbellsville University by the score of 3 to 1 in the semi-finals to advance to the championship match.

DBU finished pool play with the number two seed, after defeating Oakland City University , Bethel College, and Southern Wesleyan all in three sets. The Lady Patriots fell to Mount Vernon Nazarene during pool play.

Senior Lauren Secord and Junior Vickie Mundell were named to the 2008 NCCAA All-Tournament team, as well as the NCCAA All-American team.

"These young ladies played their hearts out all season and I'm very proud of everyone of them for what they accomplished. We will use the runner-up finish to build on for next season, where I expect to be just as successful. We will definitely miss several of our seniors but with our current underclassmen and our new recruits, I feel 2009 will be just as if not better than this season," Head Coach Cathy Ray said.
