Lady Patriots Fall Short Against Lions

The Lady Patriots Soccer Team fell to 1-1 on the season on Tuesday night as they were defeated by the Texas A&M University-Commerce Lions by the score of 4-1 in Commerce, Texas.  The Lions improve their season record to 3-0 with the win.

The Lions struck first in the ninth minute of the game as Chelsey Haight put in an early goal on the Lady Patriots leaving the score 1-0.  The Lions were able to score two more goals on the Lady Patriot defense giving them the 3-0 lead going into halftime.

Sophomore Hope Adams was able to score the only Lady Patriot goal in the game, her second of the season, early in the second half off an assist from Junior Brittany Leitch to break the shutout. 

Commerce was able to finish off the Lady Patriots in the 65th minute as Devon Herman scored her second goal of night giving the win to the Lions by the score of 4-1.    

The Lady Patriots are back in action on Thursday at Patriot Field as they welcome the University of Texas-Permian Basin Falcons to campus for a matchup beginning at 4:00 p.m.
