The Dallas Baptist University Patriot Baseball Team moved to 8-5 for the season on Friday afternoon at Patriot Field as they defeated the Memphis Tigers by the score of 9-4.
Junior
Brandon Williamson picked up his fourth win of the season as he pitched six innings allowing only three earned runs, one unearned, on eight hits while striking out one. Freshman
Duncan McAlpine picked up his second save of the season, pitching three innings, giving up no hits, and striking out three.
The Tigers scored an unearned run in the top of the third inning before the Patriots added four runs of their own to take the lead, 4-1.
Senior
Austin Knight started the inning off with a single to left field and reached third on a base hit bunt and throwing error off the bat of Senior
Ryan Enos. Knight later scored on a RBI single by Junior
Tyler Robbins, who scored on a RBI fielder's choice by Junior
Jason Krizan. Freshman
Austin Elkins followed with a two RBI double to score Krizan and Sophomore
Ryan Behmanesh, who reached on a fielder's choice.
The Tigers responded with solo homeruns in the fourth and fifth innings, to make the score 4-3.
Robbins and Krizan led off the fifth inning each with a single before Behmanesh hit a RBI groundout and Robbins singled to set up a three run homerun by Junior
Ryan Thompson to extend the Patriots lead to 8-3.
After a single run in the top of the sixth inning by the Tigers, the Patriots stretched their lead to 9-4 as Enos scored on a Krizan single, after he reached on a walk.
The Patriots are back in action at Patriot Field tomorrow as they play host to the Memphis Tigers for a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
