The Dallas Baptist University Patriot Baseball Team suffered their second loss of the season Tuesday evening, after falling to the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Lubbock. The 8-5 loss drops the Patriots to 6-2 on the season.
The Patriots fell behind early after giving up two runs in the bottom of the first, but responded with a run of their own in the top of the second. DBU Freshman
Duncan McAlpine hit a solo homerun, his fourth of the year, to cut the Patriot deficit to one.
The Patriots gave up a double and a single to start of the bottom of the second, and the Red Raiders capitalized by scoring two more runs on three hits to take a 4-1 lead.

Austin Knight homered to lead off the third, trimming the Texas Tech lead to two. Senior
Ryan Enos singled up the middle, and Junior
Jason Krizan walked, bringing McAlpine to the plate. The freshman came through again as he singled up the middle for two RBI, tying the score at four.
The Patriots took the lead in the top of the fifth after Sophomore
Ryan Behmanesh singled to score Senior
Travis Meiners who had reached on a double. The lead didn't last long as the Red Raiders added another run in the bottom of the fifth, two runs in the sixth, and one more run in the seventh. DBU failed to score again, falling 8-5.
The Patriots return to action this Thursday, February 4, as they travel to Beaumont, Texas, to take on McNeese State University. The first pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
