The Dallas Baptist University Patriot Baseball Team suffered their second loss in as many days to the Washington Huskies Friday evening. With the 13-4 loss, the Patriots fall to 14-9 on the season.
The Huskies were first on the board again Friday evening, scoring nine runs in the top of the third on seven hits. With the bases loaded, Chase Anselment stepped to the plate and delivered a grand slam to give the Huskies an early 9-0 lead.
Junior
Jason Krizan led of for the Patriots in the bottom of the inning with his fifth homerun of the season, making it a 9-1 game.
After a scoreless fourth, Washington tacked on another run fifth, followed by one in the seventh and two in the eighth, to take a commanding 13-1 lead.
DBU managed to put two more runs on the board in the bottom of the eighth after Freshman
Duncan McAlpine hit a RBI single, scoring Senior
Ryan Enos who had reached on a double. Sophomore
Ryan Behmanesh followed with his RBI single to left field to score Junior
Ryan Thompson, making it a 13-4 game.
In the bottom of the ninth, Junior
Tyler Robbins scored the final run of the night for the Patriots with a solo homerun to left field, his third of the season.
The Patriots resume action tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. at Patriot Field for the final game of the three game series against the University of Washington.
