After taking an early lead less than two minutes into the game, the Lady Patriot Soccer Team eventually lost to the visiting Wildcats from Abilene Christian (4-0) on Thursday evening, 1-2. The Lady Patriots are now 1-3 overall on the season.

The lone goal by the Lady Patriots came off the foot of Junior Brittany Layne at the 1:54 mark in the first half. Senior Ally Bales received the assist on the play after finding Layne open, deep in the Wildcats' box. However, DBU was held scoreless for the remainder game.

The Wildcats knotted the game at one when Ashley Holton weaved her way through the Lady Patriot defense and scored the unassisted goal at the 14:25 mark. Thirteen minutes into the second half, Andrea Carpenter scored the go ahead goal for the Wildcats, keeping ACU undefeated on the season.

The Lady Patriots will return to action at Patriot Field this Saturday, as they prepare to face Angelo State University. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
