The Dallas Baptist Patriot Baseball Team completed the series sweep of Mississippi Valley State with a 16-3 win Saturday afternoon at Patriot Field. The Patriots are now 30-13 on the season as they prepare for an upcoming five-game road trip.

Brandon Williamson picked up his eighth win of the season after pitching six innings, allowing three runs on three hits, and striking out five.
After Williamson retired the side in the top of the first, DBU took a 1-0 lead in the bottom half of the inning. Junior
Landon Anderson led off with a walk and later scored on a RBI single by Junior
Ryan Behmanesh.
Another scoreless outing for the Delta Devils in the top of the second resulted in a 5-0 lead for the Patriots after they added four more runs in the bottom of the inning. After Sophomore

Joel Hutter were hit by a pitch, Anderson drove in the first run of the inning with an RBI single through the left side. Senior
Tyler Robbins drew a walk the next at bat, and Senior
Jason Krizan singled to score two more runs, making it a 4-1 advantage. Behmanesh scored the final run of the inning with his RBI bunt, giving DBU the 5-1 lead through two.
MVSU scored their only three runs of the game in the fourth to narrow their deficit to two, but the Patriots responded with two more in the bottom half of the inning. Sophomore
Duncan McAlpine belted his fifth homerun of the season, scoring Robbins who had reached after being hit by a pitch.
DBU put the game out of reach in the fifth as they scored eight runs in the inning. With the bases loaded, a wild pitch by the MVSU pitcher scored the eighth run of the day for the Patriots, followed by a two RBI single from Robbins to give the Patriots a 10-3 lead. Krizan followed with his NCAA-leading, 30th double of the season, to score Robbins and make it 11-3. Kenny Hatcher.
Behmanesh pushed the final run across on a fielder's choice in the sixth, giving DBU the 16-3 win.
The Patriots will take to the road for their next five games. They will face Texas Tech in Lubbock on May 3, followed by a three game series in College Station against Texas A&M. The Patriots will wrap up the road trip with a game in Nacogdoches, Texas against Stephen F. Austin on May 10. Tuesday's game against the Red Raiders is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
