The Dallas Baptist Patriot Women's Soccer Team returned to Patriot Field, Thursday, pinning a 10-0 defeat on visiting McMurry University. Five different Patriots scored goals, including hat tricks from
Danielle Presley and
Ashley Cox.
DBU (5-2-0) bounced back from a pair of tough defeats last week, turning in their top offensive output of 2012. Presley opened the scoring less than two minutes into the contest, finishing on a pass from
Lea Sedwick.
Dixie Kurrus added the first of her two goals less than five minutes later.
Presley then added her next two goals, both assisted by
Lindsey Eccles. Coach
Michelle Lenard sent Cox into the game a few minutes later, and the freshman wasted no time in scoring three goals in less than four minutes.
Sedwick,
Kelsey Hall, and Kurrus concluded the scoring, with assists going to
Emilie MacDonald,
Kailey Roberts, and
Jolee Patterson.
Kerry Edwards worked in goal for 72 minutes for DBU, registering one save to move her record to 5-2-0.
The visiting Warhawks (2-2-1) used a pair of goalkeepers in the contest, with the loss going to Chanel Felder (2-2-1), who allowed nine goals and registered five saves. Paige Harwell worked the second half, allowing a score and adding one save.
The Patriots will return, Saturday at noon, to host University of Texas-Permian Basin for a 12 p.m. contest.
