Dallas Baptist Men's Soccer Team (3-4, 1-0) will matchup with No. 9 St. Edward's University Monday in Austin, Texas at 12 pm. The Patriots have won two straight, both coming from Heartland foe McMurry University. The latest victory came on the road in the conference opener 4-0.
LAST MATCHUP – In a rematch versus McMurry, a team DBU defeated 3-2 on September 23, DBU maintained its hot shooting against McMurry. Sophomore
Brian Robertson scored a goal in his third straight game and added three assists to contribute in every Patriot team-high score.
Four different players found the back of the net, and freshman goalkeeper
Mason Stringer came up huge. After making his debut verses the Warhawks in the second half almost two weeks ago, the rookie notched his first career start and shutout against 10 shot attempts.
ROBETSON'S CAREER STRETCH – The forward has been the hottest player for the Patriot's soccer team in their last four games. The Midlothian, Texas, native has tallied at least a point dating back to the Adam's State game in mid-September which came from an assist.
In the team's past two games with McMurry, Robertson recorded a season best five points in each contest to count towards his team-high 13 this season. The second year starter has contributed to the team's last nine goals either picking up a goal or assist.
SCOUTING NO. 9 ST. EDWARD'S– The Hilltoppers (5-1-1, 1-0) entered the week ranked ninth nationally, their highest in history and are currently winners of five straight after knocking off Oklahoma Christian 4-0. SEU remains unbeaten at home and has shutout Heartland opponents McMurry and Oklahoma Christian in the past two contests.
Andrew Fox and Daniel Riley have teamed up to pace St. Edward's offense with seven goals each. The duo has combined for 32 points and contributed half of the team's conference leading 24 goals.
In its first year in the Heartland, DBU faced the Hilltoppers twice and dropped both contests 3-0.
