Dallas Baptist Unable to Solve St. Edward's

The Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer Team dropped rival contest to St. Edward's University 1-0 Monday afternoon. The loss sends DBU (4-4-1, 1-1) to .500 and 0-2 against the Hilltoppers (7-0-2, 2-0) with two defeats in the past 16 days.
 
Julia Harrison placed a Header off a corner kick from Rachel Murray to put the Hilltoppers up 1-0 in the 15th minute of the first half. Not many opportunities unfolded the remainder of the half for either team.
 
The Patriots fought hard to keep deficit from growing. Junior Jake Cox's shot high was the final attempt for Dallas Baptist in the 86th minute as the Hilltoppers held on for the series sweep.
 
DBU did fire five of the team's six shots in the second half. Sophomore Lindsey Eccles led the Patriot's offense with three shot attempts. Senior Danielle Presley and junior Megan McDermand added a shot on goal in the loss.
 
Junior Kerry Edwards (4-4-1, 1-1) got saddled for the loss allowing the lone goal against five shots.
 
Danielle Licarione (6-0-1) got the start in the first half and faced one shot in the win. Lorrie Santoy managed the second half in the net and pulled in two saves against five shots.
 
Harrison led the offense with one goal off a team-high two shots. Jessica Traves, Cailyn Trapani, and Megan Anderson all contributed shot attempts in the shutout.
 
Dallas Baptist prepares for a six-game home stretch starting Friday with non-conference foe Southwest Oklahoma State at 4 pm.
