The Dallas Baptist Men's Basketball Team snapped its three-game winning-streak falling 80-66 to Texas-Permian Basin on Saturday Afternoon. This setback also ends a four-game consecutive victory stretch in the Burg Center.

DBU (4-4, 1-1) jumped out quickly on an 8-0 run to start the game, sparked by back-to-back three pointers by
Jonathan Perry and
Remy Ndiaye. Shooting would go cold later in the half for the Patriots, as they posted a 32-percent scoring rate from the floor.

The Falcons hit two trifectas and would later move within a pair of points, 17-15, around the halfway point of the frame. DBU rattled on 9-2 scoring span to build its largest lead of the game by nine points a separate occasions.

UTPB (7-2, 1-0) forced key turnovers that helped close the gap right before halftime. The Falcons closed the frame on a 12-3 run that ended on a tip-in by Dwayne Soders at the buzzer to knot the score 29-29 at halftime.

The second half opened with a 16-3 stretch favoring UTPB, as the visiting squad snatched its first lead all night.Â

Ndiaye put in a pair of jumpers to cut the deficit 45-38 with 13:39 left and would score DBU's next three baskets keeping them in range.

Texas-Permian Basin kept fire, shooting well and re-establishing a 55-40 gap midway in the second half. Â

The Patriots clawed back to a 60-49 margin with 7:23 remaining, but UTPB answered with six-straight points to keep the game out of reach. The Falcons outscored DBU 51-37 in the second half. Â

Ndiaye led the Patriots boasting a season-high 27 points. Perry returned to double figures in the scoring column with 15.
Wesley Gipson chipped in eight points from the bench.
Charles Allen grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

After starting out strong from the field, DBU finished the afternoon shooting 35-percent from the floor, while the Falcons posted a 44-percent clip. UTPB edged the Patriots on rebounds 37-27. Â Â

Phadarius Taylor scored a team-high 22 points, leading a total of five players tallying double-digits for the Falcons. Keith Martin followed with 14, while Soders, Thomas Feeney, and Anthony Dese added 12,11, and 10, respectively.

Dallas Baptist will look to get back on track Monday in a non-conference contest against Texas A&M-Commerce at 4 PM.
