Austin Listi (Huffman, Texas) swatted nine homeruns and drove in 46 runs during his first campaign in a Dallas Baptist uniform and, for his efforts, was named Wednesday by
Collegiate Baseball to the 2013 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American Team. Listi, an outfielder, also picked up sixteen doubles on the season while helping the Patriots to the championship game of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament in Grand Prairie, Texas.
WIth the award, Listi becomes the sixth Patriot to garner freshman honors since 2007 - joining Austin Knight (2007), Chris Haney (2008),
Ryan Behmanesh (2009),
Austin Elkins (2010) and
Duncan McAlpine (2010) on the list of Dallas Baptist baseball players to be named to an NCAA Division I first-year team. Listi will return to campus for his sophomore season as the Patriots begin 2014 as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference.
