DALLAS, Texas – The Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer team needed a little more than regulation before putting away a thrilling 1-0 victory over West Texas A&M in the home opener Saturday afternoon. Playing in their second overtime match of the year, the Patriots (2-1-1) won for the second straight time, while WT (0-3-2) remains winless and have visited overtime in their last three matches.
The only goal of the game came from sophomore
Lindsey Eccles at the 93:13 mark. For the second straight game, the forward delivered the go-ahead score that delivered the win for DBU. The Denton, Texas, native extends her team high in goals to three.
Plenty of chances existed in this game for the Patriots, outshooting WT 24-2, but only seven shots for DBU counted as shots on goal. Senior
Danielle Presley led the shooting barrage with five, followed by sophomore
Ashley Cox with four.

Emilie MacDonald contributed three, while junior

Rebecca Kernen, and Eccles all added two attempts. Eccles was the lone player to reach multiple shot on goal with two for a perfect .1000 SOG%.
Junior,
Kerry Edwards (2-1-1), earned her second straight win playing all 93:13 minutes and preserving her second shutout this year.
Yvette Bedoy (0-3-2) allowed the only goal of the game and picked up six saves.
Head Coach,
Michelle Lenard praised her players for creating opportunities. "It was another good result for us," Coach Lenard stated. "Even though we had trouble converting our chances into goals we came through when it mattered."
