COMMERCE, Texas – The Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer team fell Wednesday night at Texas A&M-Commerce 4-0. A pair of goals in both halves doomed the Patriots, who snapped a two game winning streak in the defeat. The Lions (3-1) have won three straight.
A&M-C got the scoring going early with a goal by Jade Bell off an assist by Broionna Minde. Savannah Henderson extended the lead at exactly 23:00 minutes in and the score remained 2-0 at halftime.
DBU (2-2-1) held the edge in shots during the first half 8-7, but would eventually get outshot 12-10 on the game. The Lions finished ahead 9-2 for shots on goal.

Ashley Cox attempted the most shots for the Patriots with four, while senior
Danielle Presley and junior
Lea Sedwick followed with two each.
Anitra Wright and Samantha Huston both tallied goals in the second half to push the lead out of reach. Callie Ballard (3-1) earned the win, preserving her first shutout of the year and picking up two saves.
Junior
Kerry Edwards (2-2-1) was saddled with the loss allowing four goals and smothering five saves.
Prior to the match, sophomore
Lindsey Eccles was named by the Heartland Conference office for being awarded Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The Denton, Texas, native earned the accolade after knocking in two game winners in last week's contests.
Dallas Baptist returns home Friday, Sept. 20 to open a three game homestand beginning with Angelo State. Kickoff is slated for 7 pm.
