THE LEAD
The Dallas Baptist Women's Soccer Team is back on the pitch at home for the first time since October 4 when they were defeated by St. Edward's University 1-0 in double overtime.

DBU is coming off a season-long, seven-game road trip, where it went unblemished to match an impressive winning streak.

On Saturday, the Patriots welcome University of Texas-Permian Basin to the home confines for a 5 PM kickoff.

Entering the weekend, Dallas Baptist remains one game out of the top spot of the Heartland Conference standings, held by SEU. The conference champion gets to host the league tournament on November 7-8, and the top four squads will compete.

LAST TIME OUT
DBU trailed for the first time in a contest versus a Heartland opponent since dropping the extra regulation match with St. Edward's, but the road squad responded with a pair of goals to top Newman, 2-1, on Monday.

Junior Ashley Cox was responsible for the game-winner, sneaking a corner kick that got by NU's goalkeeper, Haley Borchers, in the 83rd minute to break a 1-1 tie. It was the Midlothian, Texas, native's seventh goal of the campaign, and fourth that helped decide the difference in the game.

Cox's teammate, Lindsey Eccles, almost tied the game off a shot that glanced off the post, but was fortunate to deflect off a defender for the Jets. The counted own goal knotted the affair back at 1-1 at the 35:04 minute mark.

DBU held an 18-3 shot advantage, as the squad completed a 7-0 road trip and won its fifth-straight match versus a league foe.

CATEGORY LEADERS
Junior Emilie MacDonald is tied with Ashley Cox in goals, assists, and points with seven, five, and 19, respectively.

The duo have held top ranks in these offensive categories all season, each benefiting from consistent play throughout the campaign.

MacDonald's career night a week ago at Rogers State gave her a brief lead with seven goals and 19 points. The Cedar Hill, Texas, native, posted her first personal hat trick of her collegiate career, and first DBU has netted this season in a 6-0 decision. She added an assist to conclude a seven-point night, also a career-best for the forward.

Her performance helped claim the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Cox has produced a stellar road trip tallying at least a point in all seven contests, marking a season-most. The Midlothian, Texas, native also is atop of the shot and shots on goal categories with 65 and 24, respectively.

Junior Jolee Patterson ranks third on the team with four goals on the season. The native of Royse City, Texas continues to bolster a career-best after surpassing the previous total of two in 2013.

Senior Lea Sedwick jumped to third in points with nine, after providing her third goal of the campaign from a header in the second half of the win over Rogers State.

The native of Kennedale, Texas, was also named to the 2014 Capital One CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District 6 squad. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Texas-Permian Basin is seeking its first Heartland victory and win away from Odessa, Texas. The team snapped a seven-game losing streak with an 8-0 victory hosting McMurry on October 24.

That offensive outburst was a team-best this season, and accounts for their 15 goals overall. UTPB has been shutout nine times, which matches how many times the Patriots have blanked the opposition.

Alexa Branum and Jasmin Lopez pace the squad with four goals and nine points apiece.

A quartet of Falcons have taken at least 20 shots including: Branum with 23, Mallory Martin at 22, Ashley Redwine with 21, and Lopez rounding out at 20. Martin and Redwine each have tallied a pair of goals.

Serving in the goalkeeper position, Ebony Campbell has logged 1,035:43 minutes allowing 28 goals. She has totaled two shutouts and picked up 93 of the team's 122 saves, which ranks second as a whole in the league.

SERIES HISTORY
DBU holds a 13-1-1 series advantage all-time over the Falcons dating back to 2006, and have won the previous 10 meetings. The last three in a row have counted towards shutouts.

In 2013, the Patriots traveled to UTPB's home site and concluded the regular season in a 7-0 triumph. The high scoring contest was one shy of a team-high set at McMurry that opened Heartland action.

The road squad was in control throughout the match, building a two-goal edge in the first half, before an outburst of five goals in the final frame.

Five different Patriots notched scoring results in the route, and four current players had a hand in tallying at least one point. MacDonald led the way with five points, punching a pair of goals and adding an assist. Ashley Cox scored the final netter and setup MacDonald's first goal with an assist.

Patterson kicked off a five-goal second half with her second on the year by resending a deflected ball on the rebound back into the net. Current sophomore Rebecca Kernen also was credited with an assist.

DBU displayed a 29-5 shot advantage, and senior Kerry Edwards turned away three of them for saves.

SENIOR DAY
Prior to the match, the Women's Soccer Team will be honoring six seniors: Edwards, Sedwick, Jake Cox, Courtney Baxter, Rachel Albert, and Megan McDermand.
