The Dallas Baptist Men's Tennis Team fell 8-1 at Ottawa University on Tuesday morning. DBU has now had 10-straight setbacks and sits 1-12 on the campaign. The Bears improved to a 3-4 record in the decision.
DBU clinched its lone point on the contest in the doubles match-up. Slotted in the #2 spot, sophomore,
Anthony Burch, and junior,
Ty McAllister, teamed up to triumph in an 8-4 result over OU's Raj Selvaraj and Jimmy Brooks. Sophomore,
Bryant Forshee, and freshman,
Dean Dahlsten, fell 8-3 in the #1 seed for the Patriots. The visiting team defaulted in the third match without enough competitors.
In the singles competition, Forshee battled in both sets, losing 6-2 in the opening one, before Jacob Brendemuel from the Bears edged the native of Austin, Texas by a 6-4 tally. In the #1 spot, Burch was defeated by Matthew Barlow of OU with a 6-2, and 6-0.
Brooks topped Dahlsten to secure the contest for Ottawa, notching a pair of 6-3 results. Junior,
Cameron Longfellow, would come up shy in a 9-7 final against Brandon Edwards.
Dallas Baptist will be back in action Friday hosting Schreiner at DBU Kiest with a 9 AM start time.
