The Dallas Baptist Men's Tennis Team dropped a 9-0 decision on Tuesday versus Colorado Mesa University at DBU Kiest tennis courts. The Patriots (1-15) were unable to total much momentum on the afternoon, falling in three doubles competitions before CMU swept the singles match-ups later. The Mavericks (5-5) claimed their fourth-straight win in a row, with two counting for shutouts and the previous pair going for 5-4 finals.
In the Doubles, freshman,
Dean Dahlsten, and sophomore,
Bryant Forshee, were defeated by Jordan Lyden and Spencer Weinberg of CMU by an 8-2 score in the #1 slot. DBU netted a pair of 8-1 finishes in the next two matches to move to singles in a 3-0 deficit.
Sophomore,
Anthony Burch, worked in the #1 singles, posting 6-2, 6-3 setbacks to CMU's Lyden, who had a big day in the #1 singles and doubles to create the advantage. Forshee and Dahlsten would be downed in the #2 and #2 slots, respectively to complete the affair.
Dallas Baptist returns to the court on March 29 for a pair of contests against Newman University and University of Texas-Permian Basin. The Patriots will begin play in the first match at 9 AM, with the contest with UTPB swinging at 3 PM. This doubleheader marks the final duo of Heartland Conference games on the campaign for a DBU squad that has gone 0-4 so far on the slate.
