The Dallas Baptist Men's Tennis Team was defeated 9-0 by University of Arkansas-Fort Smith 8-1 on Saturday Afternoon. DBU has now dropped its last six matches and is 1-8 overall. The Patriots are also now 0-3 in Heartland action following back-to-back league match-up setbacks.
In the doubles matches, the Patriots were swept 3-0 to fall behind early in the afternoon affair.
Sophomore,
Bryant Forshee, posted a pair of 6-2 losses in each set for the Patriot's #2 singles match-up. In the #5 spot, Ryan Heslop from the visiting Lions topped junior,
Cameron Longfellow, 6-2, 6-4.
Making his spring debut was freshman,
Brandon O'Donovan, who also is a member of the Men's Soccer Team. The College Station, Texas, native participated in the #3 doubles match with Longfellow, and the #6 singles slot. In his first appearance, he posted the closest deficits, falling 6-4, 6-3 to UAFS's Caleb Gunsch.
Dallas Baptist returns to the courts March 11 for a tournament in Phoenix, Arizona. The Lady Patriots play a pair of contests on Tuesday versus University of the Southwest at 8 AM and then Arizona Christian University at 4:15 PM. The Men's Tennis Team wraps-up the week on March 12 against Our Lady of the Lake at 9:15 AM.
