KICKOFF
Dallas Baptist University continued its unbeaten streak with a 2-0 victory over Texas A&M-Commerce on Tuesday, October 6, and a 0-0 draw with Newman on Friday, October 9.

Junior forwards Rebecca Kernen and Cecily Martinez found the back of the net against the Lions to fuel the Patriots to the win. Senior goalkeeper Jenna Ackerly made five saves to preserve the DBU lead.

After rain postponed the game against Newman from Thursday night to Friday evening, the Jets and Patriots battled to a 0-0 tie. Ackerly made six saves, but the DBU offense was held scoreless for just the third time this season.

DBU looks to continue its six-game unbeaten streak in a rematch with rival St. Edward's at Lewis-Chen Family Field in Austin, Texas, on Thursday, October 15, at 3:30 p.m.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ackerly was named the Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the third time on Monday. She recorded 11 saves and two shutouts in 110:00 total minutes played last week.

HEARTLAND CONFERENCE LEADER
Freshman forward Maddie Owen continues to be one of the finest at setting up goals, recording her sixth assist of the season in the 2-0 win over Texas A&M-Commerce. She leads the Heartland Conference and ranks 16th in the nation in total assists.

Ackerly continues to be among the nation's elite goalkeepers, ranking fifth in Division II in save percentage (.911), 29th in total saves (72) and 38th in minutes played (1118:10).

SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS
St. Edward's has lost just two games this season to No. 2 Western Washington and to DBU earlier this season. The Hilltoppers have won their last four games since the loss to DBU by a score of 15-0. St. Edward's has had 13 different goal-scorers and is led by freshman midfielder Sabrina Cone with four.
