THE LEAD The Dallas Baptist Men's Tennis Team would pick up their third victory in a row as they defeated Sul Ross State University by a score of 9-0.
The match began with the Forshee brothers winning at Line 2 doubles with a score of 8-1. The Patriots would then win Line 1 behind Cannon Jones and Zane Nelson's 8-2 score. The final doubles point came from Freshmen Isaac Childs and Jake Johnson by a score of 8-5.
Going into the singles side of the match, the Patriots would look to build on their 3-0 lead. Zane Nelson would win Line 3 to start off singles play with a score of 6-0, 6-1. This win was quickly followed with victories from Cannon Jones at Line 1, Anthony Burch at Line 5, Isaac Childs at Line 6, and Leighton Forshee at Line 2.
The final point of the match would come from a gutsy Jordan Jackson at the Line 4 spot. Jackson lost the first set 4-6 but would quickly recover by winning the second set 6-1. The decisive ten point tiebreaker would settle the match. Jackson would claw back from deficits of 1-5 and even saved three match points at 6-9. He would win the match with a score of 11-9 in the tiebreaker.
