KICK-OFF
The Dallas Baptist University Women's Soccer team defeated Rogers State University, 2-0, on Thursday night at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas.
Geneva Martinez connected with
Kristina Williamson for both goals in the match.
DBU got on the board in the 15th minute, when Martinez found Williamson in the box, who headed it off a defender past goalkeeper Taylor Stover. Martinez and Williamson hooked up for a second goal in the 49th minute to extend the lead to 2-0.

DBU looks to continue their winning ways against Newman at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas.

SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets have won just one of their last seven contests, a 2-0 win over Rogers State on the road on October 8. Newman is wrapping up a five-game roadtrip on Saturday, in which they have gone 1-1-2 and scored two goals.

Morgan Foster and Erin Mink have been responsible for two-thirds of the Jets' goals this season with a trio of scores each. On the defensive side of the ball, Ashley Sweetnam has been trending upward, making six saves and allowing no goals in her last three appearances.

DBU is 7-1-2 alltime against Newman and won the first meeting with the Jets, 2-1, earlier this season in Wichita, Kansas.
Rebecca Kernen netted the game winner just over four minutes into overtime after taking on a defender at the top of the box and putting a shot past goalkeeper Kelsi Langley while falling to the ground.
Emmy Niece put the Patriots on the board first in the 27th minute off of a
Geneva Martinez corner kick. The Jets scored the equalizer nine minutes later in similar fashion, as Cydney Padilla finished off a corner from Emma Stewart.Â
