THE LEAD
The Lady Patriots are looking to bounce back into the winning column as they are back on the road to face Lubbock Christian. DBU has done some great things this year with injury stricken roster and players playing out of position. The Lady Patriots are looking to build off their inspired performances at the end of October.
Â
HESS SHOWING HER DOMINANCE
Senior
Carly Hess, played dominant volleyball last week and led DBU with several incredible performances. Hess began the week by leading on players with 2 kills in a match-up against TAMIU. Hess followed that performance with a season-high 20 kills against Newman and 17 more kills versus UA Fort Smith.
Â
BALLEW IS WHEREVER DBU NEEDS HER
Senior
Hannah Ballew, had one of the most interesting, yet unbelievable weeks of volleyball this past week. Due to injuries, Ballew played all over the court filling positions you typically wouldn't see a 5'4" collegiate volleyball athlete playing. Ballew recorded a season-high against UA Fort Smith with 10 kills and also added a match leading 23 digs.
Â
SCOUTING LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN
LCU has been enjoying a positive season as they are currently ranked 2
nd in Heartland Conference behind the 11-0 UA Fort Smith. Lubbock Christian is on a 2 game winning streak and this will be their first game back at home since October 13. Sophomore's Emily Hanaway and Kelsie French lead LCU. French has notched 530 digs on the season as Hanaway has contributed just over 300 kills this year.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Patriots are 2-5 against Lubbock Christian dating back to 2013. DBU last faced LCU last month in the Burg Center and the Lady Patriots fell in three sets.Â
