THE RUNDOWN
DBU (17-4, 10-2 LSC) defeated Midwestern State (14-10, 9-4 LSC) in straight sets Friday night, as the Patriots earned their tenth conference win of the season.
Aizlyn Dewberry led everyone on the floor with 11 kills, and was joined by
Karly Wells (10) in the double-digit kill club. Dewberry also led the floor in efficiency, finishing with a whopping .688 hitting percentage.

After surrendering a point to MSU on the first rally of the night, the Patriots immediately went on a 7-0 run. DBU held that advantage for the majority of the set, but the Mustangs stormed back to tie it at 20, 21, and 22. The Patriots would benefit from three consecutive MSU errors to win set one, 25-22.

Set two was not one-sided early on, as the frame featured seven lead changes before anyone had earned 12 points. After being knotted at 11, DBU rattled off a 6-0 run to establish enough separation on the scoreboard to cruise to a 25-17 set victory.

The third frame was the Patriots' best in terms of offensive efficiency, but the story of the set was their defense. Midwestern State was held to a .000 hitting percentage, totaling seven kills and seven errors.
Reagan Fifer put the final nail in the coffin, as her sixth kill of the night granted DBU its tenth conference win.
