THE RUNDOWN
DBU (18-4, 11-2 LSC) dismantled Lubbock Christian (14-11, 9-5 LSC) Saturday afternoon, as the Patriots played their three most dominant sets of the season.
Karly Wells had a field day, leading everyone on the floor with 26 kills and becoming the program's all-time kill leader along the way. Wells did so without a single attack error, finishing today's game with a whopping .743 hitting percentage (26/35).

The only lead change of the afternoon came in set one, as the Lady Chaps won the first rally of the game. After a series of ties,
Carmen Harless landed an ace to give the Patriots a 5-4 lead, and they would not trail for the remainder of the contest. Wells entered tonight needing eight kills to break the record, and she eclipsed that mark in the first set. With the Patriots ahead 20-9, Wells had five tallies to her name. She would then record a kill in three consecutive rallies, breaking the record, before icing the frame with her ninth kill.

DBU's offensive efficiency would get exponentially better as the night went on, while the opposite would be the case for Lubbock Christian. The Patriots would accrue 46 kills on a .494 hitting percentage, while holding the Lady Chaps to a measly 15 kills on a -0.043 mark.
