The Dallas Baptist University Women's Soccer team began a five-game roadtrip with a 2-1 extra time victory over Newman on Thursday night in Wichita, Kansas.
Rebecca Kernen netted the game winner just over four minutes into overtime after taking on a defender at the top of the box and putting a shot past goalkeeper Kelsi Langley while falling to the ground.
Hope Koym provided the key play of the game, making a save on a penalty kick attempt in the 87th minute to force the game into extra time. Koym made a season-high 11 saves in the match.

The Patriots continue their roadtrip against Rogers State at Noon on Saturday at Soldier Field.

SCOUTING ROGERS STATE
The Hillcats posted a 3-0 record in non-conference play, outscoring opponents 11-1, but are just 1-2-1 in the Heartland Conference. Rogers State have five players with a pair of goals, and Jasmine Guerra leads the team in points with six.

Taylor Stover has started all seven matches in goal for the Hillcats, playing in all 650 minutes. Stover has made 40 saves and has recorded three shutouts.
