COACH SARAH GRAY ON THE GUYS HARD WORK PAYING OFFÂ
"It was a great team effort as all of our guys got at least one point toward the team score. Since we played singles first this time, Jacob
Delao initially put us on the board with a decisive two set victory. Not long after that,
Jordan Jackson came off court also with a two-set victory. Cannon, Nick, and Isaac all fought back to take the second sets after losing the first set. Isaac won his match convincingly in the third sets. At #1 singles, Cannon trailed the entire match until being up 5-4 in the second set. At that time, the momentum turned and the fighter in Cannon continued to persist and take the second set 6-4. With both Cannon and his opponent weary from playing about two and a half hours, Cannon persisted and his strength was too much and he won 6-2 in the third. Doubles was very strong at #1 and #2 with Isaac and Riley sealing the team victory and then Cannon and Nick following shortly after. The effort, character and strength displayed by our guys was wonderful. Having another win under our belt is great, but how they went about it is what separates us from other teams."Â
