THE LEAD
The DBU Men's Tennis Team opened their 2017 spring schedule with two wins in Longview, Texas. The Patriots went 5-4 to get the narrow victory over LeTourneau in the team's first match and 9-0 as the team settled in to put away Centenary College.
Â
DBU got down by 2 after struggling with the first two doubles matches against LeTourneau but the duo of
Jordan Jackson and
Jacob Delao helped turn the momentum around with an 8-5 victory. The Patriots rallied through their second match against Centenary College, earning wins in each singles and doubles set.

COACH SARAH GRAY ON THE MEN'S TENNIS TEAM STARTING WITH MOMENTUM
"Our guys had a close match to start out the season today against LeTourneau. We trailed 2-1 after a bit of sloppy doubles play but rebounded well in singles. Both
Jordan Jackson and
Jacob Delao went 2-0 in that dual match and came through when we needed them. The second match of the day proved to be a bit easier and all our guys got it done. Overall, it was good experience for our team, as 3 of our top 6 guys are freshman. We feel we have some momentum to start off our season and we will take it into next weekend against McMurry and Hardin Simmons."
