LAST TIME OUT
The DBU Volleyball team opens the week at home for the Heartland Conference Preseason Tournament this Thursday at 4:30 p.m. against Lubbock Christian, and then again at 7:00 p.m. for a matchup with St. Mary's. On Friday, the Lady Patriots will head north to Carrollton, Texas, for a 2:00 p.m. showdown with Texas A&M International. Last week, DBU went 1-0 after sweeping Southern Arkansas at the Burg Center.

Brooke Clark (Soph.) and
Emma Eakin (Jr.) led DBU combining for 18 kills in the match. Seniors
Gabby Grindele and
Lauren Nicks combined for 26 digs, while Senior
Merci Perry and Junior
Strealy Sizelove recorded a combined 29 assists. Senior
Kasey Holand held down the front row with a team-high six blocks, as well as posting six kills.
The Lady Patriots opened the season 1-0 at home for the first time since the 2015 season.

PATRIOT STORYLINES
- DBU did not trail for the duration of the match against SAU, the first time all season.
- DBU looks to win back-to-back games for the second time all season, the last consecutive wins came against UC Colorado Springs (8/24) and William Jewell (8/25).
- Brooke Clark has a team-high 71 kills through nine games, averaging 2.45 kills per set.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS

LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN
This will be the 11th meeting between DBU and Lubbock Christian University. The Lady Patriots currently trail the series, 3-7. Lubbock Christian finished the 2017 campaign with a record of 10-17 overall with a 7-5 record in conference play. LCU is currently 5-6 on the season, coming off a 3-0 sweep of Arkansas-Monticello.
ST. MARY'S
DBU will meet St. Mary's for the 29th time in school history. The Rattlers finished last season with a 19-12 record overall with a first place 9-3 record in the Heartland Conference. Key returners from last season feature Channing Hankins and Alissa Tolbert, each averaging over 2.5 points per set. St. Mary's is 4-4 on the season after a three set loss to Washburn.
TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL
The Lady Patriots will take on the Texas A&M International Dustdevils for the 25th time in school history. DBU leads the all-time series 20-4, and looks to continue building Friday at 2:00 p.m. The Dustdevils are 1-10 on the season.
