THE LEAD
The DBU Men's and Women's Tennis teams will open its spring season Saturday at DBU as they take on Harding University and Collin College.

The Lady Patriots finished the 2018 fall season with performances at the Tyler Invitational and the Midwestern State Invitational. This spring, three new additions to the team will look to make a difference. Taylor Leslie, Leslie Omeire, and sophomore transfer Kate Daugherty will look to make an immediate impact this spring. Claire Nguyen is the lone senior and will look to finish her career at DBU strong. Nguyen is currently holding the top spot in the singles lineup and will start at line one in doubles as well with Kate Daugherty.

On the men's side, Grant McKenzie and Brian Nguyen will look to continue where they left off in the fall, as both were standout players this as freshman. The Patriots Captain Riley Smith and sophomore Gabe Garrido who were lineup players last season, which could bode well for DBU this spring.

COACH WADE MORGAN ON THE UPCOMING WEEKEND
"This weekend will be a great opportunity to compete against some tough opponents, both teams have been working hard, and making improvements early in the season despite not having played any matches yet. We are pretty excited to get the season going and see what we're made of. We are especially excited for our young teams to compete against high level competition right out of the gate."
