Box Score 2 THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Tennis team went 1-1 this week falling to Newman 5-2, but snapped a five-match losing streak defeating Southwestern 5-4.
In the Newman match,
Brian Nguyen and
Grant McKenzie won their doubles match 6-2, while the two other pairs fell narrowly, 7-5. Nguyen and McKenzie picked up wins in their singles matches, but the Jets were too much on the day taking the match 5-2.
Against Southwestern, the Patriots found themselves in the win column thanks to a stellar performance in doubles play. Down in the match, McKenzie and Nguyen won their singles matches to bring DBU within a point of the Moundbuilders. Sophomore
Josh Williams found himself down a set, but came back to win in a 10-point breaker to give the Patriots the 5-4 victory.
