THE LEAD
DBU fell 11-7 in the second game of the series versus Arkansas State at Horner Ballpark. The Red Wolves tallied 14 hits and drew six free bases at the plate on four walks and two hit batters, while the Patriots six-run ninth wasn't enough to complete the comeback. Zach Jackson threw 8.1 innings giving up one run on seven hits earning the win.

Arkansas State struck first in the third inning with three consecutive singles as Ben Klutts and Sky-Lar Culver picked up an RBI each. In the fifth, Drew Tipton hit an infield single followed by a throwing error that scored another run. Colten Nix provided a two-RBI single making the score 5-0.
Arkansas State doubled its lead with a five-spot in the top of the sixth on three hits capped by a two-run blast from Drew Tipton. A solo blast by Nix in the top of the ninth gave ASU its eleventh run of the day.
The Patriots' first runs came in the sixth inning after
Jackson Glenn singled with two outs and later came around to score on a
Blayne Jones triple.
In the ninth,
Jimmy Glowenke posted an RBI single for his fifth of the season, while
Jackson Glenn hit a three-run homerun, followed by a solo shot by
Blayne Jones making the score 11-7. Jack Jumper came in with two outs to retire
Jeffrey David ending the DBU comeback.
Chandler Arnold was saddled with the loss surrendering four runs on seven hits and a walk in 4.2 innings of work.
