Both teams came out swinging in a highly offensive first set. The Lady Patriots maintained a narrow edge until the Rattlers tied the score at 10. Behind 10-12, St. Mary's took 5 consecutive points, but DBU responded with a 4-point stretch of its own. In a frame where both teams hit well over .300,
Shaylee Shore's 7 kills led the Lady Patriots to take the set in deuce play.

The Rattlers began the second set with a three-point sprint, but DBU rebounded quickly with a 10-3 run and extended its lead to as many as 8, 19-11. The margin was narrowed to as few as four, but the Lady Patriots staved off a comeback while holding St. Mary's to an even hitting percentage.
